Around 60 business people turned out to take some time out for some networking and to forge some new relationships. There was good energy in the room with many of those who attended were keen to hear from Powerco on plans for improving electricity infrastructure around Wanganui. The Powerco team lead by Matthew Ogier and Niel Holden used the opportunity to gain feedback from business on the plans they’re developing to manage the line infrastructure going forwards. They explained that costs for Power for local businesses would need to increase if they worked towards a network upgrade that was 100% reliable. They asked for feedback on keeping the status quo, or moving towards a 100% reliable network which would have no outages.
The feedback was subdued but a general feeling that increased costs of any major significance were to be avoided at this time.
