Here’s a taste of some of the valuable information made available to those who attended the breakfast session on networking.
How do you find and target potential relationships.
You could use organizations you are already doing business with and a good rapport is already in place. You would also have an idea of their client base and their reputation, levels of performance and quality of product.
Approach business acquaintances in person whenever possible. Be businesslike and professional by all means but remember that people do business with those they like and trust – take the time to build a real relationship that means something. Know what you are looking for so you can ask concisely and accurately.
It is always easier to use existing contacts but if you have none, do a network web and identify as many professions as possible that fit your sphere. It always pays to try and be introduced by someone so that it is a warm call. Approaching friends and family-use the “buddy system”, ask for help. They have professionals and acquaintances to introduce you too.
